Tales of Symphonia 2

... or Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Knight of Ratatosk in Japan). I prefer to call this the sequel but Namco calls it a blend between a sequel and spin-off. Whatever, just call it whatever floats your boat. Anyways, set 2 years after the events of the first game, Knight of Ratatosk presents a new protagonist, Emil Castagnier along with a somewhat annoying heroine, Marta Lualdi. Various events happen and soon after, Emil is thrown into the duty of awaking Ratatosk who supposedly was the summon spirit of the Great Kharlan tree and the lord of all monsters. Emil and Marta sets out on their quest while Lloyd, the hero of ToS is out destroying cities who opposes the church of Martel.

Wait. What? Yeah, supposedly Lloyd decided to ditch his mission of collecting exspheres and thought burning cities was a better occupation. One of the cities that got destroyed is Palmacost, Emil's hometown. This causes Emil to loose his parents and thus, he vows revenge against Lloyd. On their journey, Emil and Marta are met with the old cast of Symphonia, who sadly are more of minor characters than major ones. They come and go, hoping to unlock the mysteries surrounding Lloyd and thus a new game is born.
